 2025 soll die Funkreise, ähnlich wie in den vergangenen Jahren nach Grimeton und nach Arkala / Nordkap, Insel Wight, diesmal zum Funkhaus in Finnland gehen.

 In spring 2025 I plan a trip similar to the trips the years before. We have been at Grimeton, Arkala / North Cap, Isle Wight. This year the final target is the HAM radio house in Finnland.

Während der Reise plane ich mehrere SOTA Aktivierungen in jedem Land durch das wir durchreisen. Großes Ziel soll sein in allen baltischen Ländern alle SOTA Ziele zu erwandern. Damit drei weitere Länder in die "Länder Complete" Liste einzutragen.

Das Reiseteam ist aufgrund der Kapazitäten des Hauses vorab in der Größe limittiert. Alex empfiehlt 4 Personen und gibt maximal 6 Personen an. Per September 2024 habe ich bereits 10 Reiseinteressenten. Da fallen sicher einige weg, das war auch die vergangenen Jahre so. Vorrang werden die bisherigen Reiseteilnehmer haben.

Aufgrund der schlechten Erfahrungen mit dem Leihwagen 2024 will ich nur 4 Personen im Auto haben, sonst müssten wir eben mit 2 Autos fahren; das macht die Sache aber deutlich teurer. Die Leihwagenmiete und die Fährkosten werden die größten Ausgabebrocken sein. Das Leihwagen Thema wird ohnehin spannend weil Fahrten Richtung Osten oft nicht erlaubt sind.
During the trip I plan several SOTA activations in every country which we pass. Special goal this year we want to visit all SOTA targets in every baltic state. This should add three more countries to the "complete list"

The number of participants is limitted by the capacity of the house. Alex recommends 4 PAX and defined 6 als the absolute maximum. As per September 2024 I have 10 OMs who are interested on the trip. Some of them will cancle this happened also for the previous trips. All members for previous trips will have priority to join.

Due to the bad experience with the car on the 2024 trip I'd like to limit 4 people per car. If the group gehts bigger we need to rent 2 cars; which makes it faar more expensive. Car rentl cost and ferry fees will be the major cost factor on this trip. Renting the car will be difficult as many rentl car companies do not allow to drive to the east.
 

Das Haus

 Das Haus liegt im Südosten von Finnland. Auf einer kleinen Insel nördlich von Savonranta. Savonranta ist auch die nächste kleinere Siedlung, die ist aber etwa 15km weit entfernt. Das Blokhaus liegt auf der Insel Vuokalansaari, am Nordzipfel mitten in einem Wald. Die nächste größere Siedlung ist auch südlich Savonlinna etwa 70km entfernt.
Das Haus hat eine Amateurfunk Station mit einem IC7300, einer 20/15/10m Yagi/Uda Antenne auf einem 18-m-Mast, und einer Kelemen 160/80, Inv-V 80; Inv-V 40, Inv-V 30; GP 40/20, GP 40. Es gibt auch noch einen 1,5kW Antennenverstärker den wir aber nicht vorhaben zu nutzen. Wir haben auf den früheren Reisen mit unseren portablen 5-10W RIGs und sehr simplen Antennen viele Stationen arbeiten können. Mehr Leistung braucht man nur um eine Frequenz im Contest verteidigen zu können, das haben wir nicht vor.

The House

 The house is located in the south reast of finnland on a small island north of Savonranta. Savonranta is the next city is it about 15km away. The log house is on the island Vuokalansaari the the north end deep in the woods. The next City is Savonlinna about 70km south.
The house has a amateur radio station with a IC7300. There is a 20/15/10m Yagi/Uda antenna on a 18-m-tower. Additionally there is a Kelemen 160/80, Inv-V 80; Inv-V 40, Inv-V 30; GP 40/20, GP 40. Optional there is a 1.5kW amplifier awailable, which we will not use as we have the experience that our 5-10W SOTA RIG is able to cover the globe. More power is only necessary to defend a frequency during a contest. There are no plans for that.

 Die Reise startet am 29. Mai, Rückkehr zu Pfingsten am Montag 9. Juni. Das Wetter ist üblicherweise in der Zeit schon stabil - hoffen wir. Zumindest die Vergangenen Jahre hatten wir gutes Wetter zu der Zeit.

Wetter

 Das terrestrische Wetter sollte gerade warm werden. Wir hoffen, daß es noch keine Gelsen gibt. Die Funk ist im Vorfeld etwas Besorgnis erregend. Die sehr aktive Sonne wird wohl abermals Verbindungen über den Pol unmöglich machen.
Wir planen während der Reise mit unseren Rufzeichen in der Luft zu sein und im OH73ELK Haus zusätzlich das OH73ELK Rufzeichen in die Luft zu bringen. Es gibt einen Award von den Betreibern des Hauses zu arbeiten.

Weather

 The terrestical weather should be stabile and warm. We hope that moskitos are noz out at this time. The radio weather situation will be difficult. The active sun might be too strong for radio contacts above the pole.
We plan to use our own call signs during the trip. Additionally during the stay we will also use OH73ELK. There is a special award available from the owners of the house the OE73ELK award.

Aktivitäten in Finnland
 In Finnland wollen wir eine knappe Woche im OH73ELK Haus bleiben. Dort soll vor allem viel Funkbetrieb gemacht werden. Sowohl tagsüber als auch Nachts. Die Zeit dort soll auch mit anderen lokalen Aktivitäten gefüllt werden. Das Haus bietet ein Boot an, es gibt eine Sauna, ein Grillhaus ist am Gelände. Ich halte viel von gutem Essen dem wollen wir auch viel Aufmerksamkeit widmen.
In der weiteren Umgebung gibt es einige Wanderziele, dazu zählen auch zumindest 2 SOTA Mugel die wir natürlich auch aufsuchen werden. Da es nur sehr kurze Nachtphasen haben werden hoffe ich doch ein wenig Nordlichter sehen zu können, das Haus ist relativ im Süden von Finnland, da könnte sich kurz was ausgehen.

Aktivitäten in Finnland
 In Finnland we have about one week which we will spend in OE73ELK. Focus will be HAM radio activities during daylight as well as night. We will spend also timo to do other local activities. The house offers a boat, there is a sauna, an outside fire place. I'm interested in good food, so there will be some focus on that as well.
In the local area there are 2 SOTA summits which we will visit definitely, as well as national parks. Dark night time will be short but I hope we can see nordic light. The house is quite south for finnish geography.
